Red’s a case of fusion-gone-bad: Shanghainese chef, Shanghainese owner, operating as a Taiwanese-style beer house ala “Cotton Candy”, with sushi/sashimi/rolls, and a fully visible, fully enclosed yaki booth, playing NFL games on flatscreens, with some kinda buddha waterfountain, and a modern-chic separate bar area.
I don’t even want to talk about what we had because I was stricken with a case of the “dumbass”. Let’s just say something akin to General Tso’s chicken arrived at our table, and morphed itself into a plate of slimey and sour dark chicken meat chunks.
PS: yes, this is the same location as the old short-lived Rosemead branch of the OC chainlet, Brodard. Main sign still is from Brodard heydays.
PPS: easily 1 of the top 5 worst meals of ’08, right up there with Commes Ca & Happy Happy
