First, want to give a shout out to the fastest shucker in the West: Abel of Water Grill. Abel, a hearty man quick with his fingers, has been at Water Grill for over 15 years. You can find him manning the seafood station daily at the downtown Los Angeles emporium of seafood.
August 29th was a glorious, and furious, day in Los Angeles. With the fires crackling loudly all over Northeast LA, Malibu, nearly 15 degrees cooler, seemed like a good place to retreat.
Everyone else has already noted the Tori Spelling sighting. I did not get a good pix of her, but the local species of fashionistas could only comment on her rail thinness. Let’s just say it was far more exciting seeing Natalie Portman kicking it S. Central style at the Mercado Paloma.
Overall, everyone had a great time, despite losing the coveted airline tickets during silent auction. There was wine aplenty, no one ran out of food, and the quality of the eats was actually top notch, despite the selective restaurants present. This event, in its seventh year, benefits Childhelp.
