Back in February, DTLATruckChaser visited Don Chow Tacos for a little special something something. The end result was this picture:

Monday night, DCT finally had their 10 minutes of fun fame on the small screen. Verdugo Bar, site of many late night food truck gatherings, played co-host, and team DCT served up 600 Chin-Mex tacos and 40 pounds of fresh al pastor chow fun to supporting fans at Verdugo Bar watching the first showing of DCT on Guy Fieri’s Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.

I haven’t eaten chow-fun standing up since visiting street stalls of Hong Kong nearly 6 years ago, and it made me fall in love with this dish once again despite having Singaporean chow-fun merely days before the viewing party. Furthermore, it’s a reminder to never order chow-fun before the sun is long gone.

The new chef, Ernie (above left), brought onboard last spring, has stepped up the flavor all around. The al pastor chow fun is spicier & packed full of moisture which led to a quicker slide past the esophagus straight into the stomach. This is a great thing for hungry drinkers.

It’s imperative to mention the crowd cheered every time Dom & Lawrence came on the screen. It was kinda awesome for these 2 humble guys.
