Guest of a Guest features weekly: “best $2K ever spent” parties all around LA. Here at SinoSoul.com, we don’t roll around with that kind of booze budget, but hey, sometimes, $8 (for valet) is all you need, even in West Hollywood.

Fig & Olive has been slowly building hype for a year. If last night is any indication, F&G will be an instant WeHo darling. With 8000 square feet space, 4 dining “rooms”, a courtyard olive tree, rows upon rows of indoor rosemary, a front larder full of olive oils, enough to replicate Judgment of Paris, an intimate formal dining room, an upstairs dining lounge slash bar, reserved walk-in informal dining room, AND future patio brunch, Fig & Olive brings Swiss Army Knife to the party. And party it also did last night, despite being the most low-key, ie, no “fashion show”, of 3 soft opening days. With potata bravas, bresaola on mustard, jamon, manchego, prawns, and white anchovies all served pintxos style, the kitchen flexed major muscles last night to serve the no-I-don’t-do-pork-or-beef WeHo crowd last night. Which, btw, was really odd, because the same party goers would also not eat white anchovies… which is all OK by the rest of us. Just wish there was some bacalao to go around as well.

Grubstreet LA should be reporting back on the full dinner experience sometime today.
The best part about this party? Unlilke DTLA, WeHoers tip while looking glam. Glam means no SLR cameras, “Asian bloggers & chef groupies”. It’s nice sometimes.
