Huckleberry’s Thursday Night FamBam, er, Dinner.

“Kids 12 & under eat for half price, unless you’re 5 & under… then you eat for free”

Huckleberry should’ve gone taken the easy road like Denny’s and simply named the Thursday Night Dinner: Kids Eat Free*. *with a purchase of an entree.

Since it’s almost Thursday morning and everyone’s getting ready to get their weekend started, let’s keep this short: whether you think Huckleberry’s breakfast is rather exorbitant, or you simply loooove the Santa Monica sun while eating a Cali breakfast burrito, consider Huckleberry’s Thursday Night Dinner a game changer. It’s a game changer in the way Papilles is quietly changing Hollywood’s mind about bistronomy, it’s a game changer in the way 800 degrees totally blew LA’s mind when it comes to pizza as fast food.

On Thursdays, Huckleberry opens its door a bit longer than the typical 8:00pm and offers a $30 for family style dinner using luxury farmers market ingredients. On the particular week of this gratis media meal visit, it was all about Weiser Farm — Weiser Farm watermelons and Weiser potatoes (hello!! these organic potatoes run $2-$2.50+/lb at the farmers markets!). I’m no whore for Car Shoes, but if you’re telling me Tutti Frutti and Weiser veggies are in a $30 4-course meal? I’m in. While the Santa Monica Mirror didn’t quite feel indulged after 3 courses, the prodigious fish and chips main course placed me in a glorious place between overindulgence and gluttony. That night, some may have even claimed: “these are the best fish and chips I’ve ever had”.
