LA’s best NYC Pizza? Please! $2.70 for a tiny slice of pizza no wider than 4″?? GTFO!

While I am NOT Mr. Pizza (that’d be Mr. Jeff Varazano right here), I know what I like. And what I like, is to be not starving after a slice of pie to go.

The dough is too dense for me. It’s definitely chewy, but it’s dry, lacking moisture. It’s missing the springy-ness of a good bottom crust. This joint uses a deck oven and tho the servers are indeed friendly, I don’t find it particular better than LaRocco’s in Culver City. Yes, I know it’s been around for.. 20 years? but… there’s better broke-ass dining options in West LA (Palms, whatevs!)
